Tea at Maracatú is mostly an Italian affair: the Sandemetrio (San Demetrio) brand alongside Fonte plant-based lattes, 33 items in all — from everyday black and green tea to herbal blends and fruit infusions. It sits naturally in a shop built around Italian coffee: the same daily ritual, poured into a teacup instead. A large part of the Sandemetrio range is certified organic.

Brands and product groups

• Sandemetrio — Italian teas in boxes of 18 filters: black Tè Breakfast and Lemon Black Tea, green Tè Verde, rooibos, and 100g loose leaf green tea.
• Sandemetrio herbal infusions — functional blends named for what they set out to do: Più Depur (cleanse), Più Snell (drainage), Più Riposo (evening calm) and Erbe Mamma (for nursing).
• Organic fruit infusions — forest fruits, strawberry and raspberry, pomegranate: sweet, caffeine-free and gentle enough for children in the evening.
• Flavoured and spiced teas — cinnamon-orange, turmeric-lemon-honey, ginger-lemon, mint.
• Fonte — vegan superfood lattes in powder form: pink pitaya (dragon fruit), roasted hojicha, guarana-cacao and rooibos latte.

How to choose your tea

For mornings, reach for the stronger black Tè Breakfast or the citrusy Lemon Black Tea. Green Tè Verde — in filters or as 100g loose leaf — carries the day well. In the evening, or for younger drinkers, the caffeine-free options work best: rooibos and the fruit and herbal infusions. If you want a blend for a particular moment, follow the Sandemetrio series name — Più Riposo is a herbal blend for a quiet evening, while the ginger-lemon and mint infusions are usually enjoyed after a meal.

Formats and pack sizes

Sandemetrio teas come in a few formats: the 18-filter box, infusion cialde pods, and loose herbs or green tea in a 100g pack. Fonte plant-based lattes are sold as powder in 150, 225 and 300g packs — enough for many cups prepared with milk or a plant drink.
