Starbucks in capsule form is an attempt to move the coffeehouse menu onto two home systems: Nespresso, with straight espresso and lungo in aluminium, and Dolce Gusto, with milk drinks built from two capsules per serving. The brand keeps its own roast vocabulary: Blonde is light and mild, Medium balanced, Dark deep and slightly bitter.
Nespresso capsules
- Dark roasts — Espresso Roast 10/10, Italian Style Roast, Ristretto Shot and Espresso Verona with bitter cocoa notes.
- Medium and light — House Blend Lungo 8/10, Breakfast Blend, Blonde Espresso Roast, plus single origins Guatemala 5/10 and Colombia.
- Decaf and flavoured — Espresso Roast Decaf, Blonde Espresso Roast Decaf, Smooth Caramel and Vanilla 5/10.
- In 10 and 36 counts: Nespresso capsules, also suited to Nespresso machines.
Dolce Gusto capsules
- Milk drinks — Cappuccino, Caffè Latte, Caramel Macchiato, Madagascar Vanilla Macchiato, White Mocha and the seasonal Pumpkin Spice Latte.
- Black coffee — Espresso Roast and House Blend Americano, in 12 counts: Dolce Gusto capsules.
