ESE 44 mm pods are pre-portioned coffee sealed in paper filters 44 millimetres across — the E.S.E. (Easy Serving Espresso) standard that fits any portafilter or pod machine built for the system. One pod makes one espresso: no grinding, no dosing, no wet grounds to knock out. This category holds 47 items, from our freshly roasted house label Maracatú to the classic Italian blends.
Brands and coffee types in this category
- Maracatú — our own label: 100% Arabica at intensity 7/10, Sublime 8/10, Gran Crema 9/10 and the punchy Intenso 10/10, plus a decaf version. The pods are compostable.
- Caffè Borbone — Neapolitan blends in four shades: Rossa (Red), Blu (Blue), Nera (Black) and Oro (Gold), plus the DEK Green Blend decaf. Compostable pods, packs of 100 and 150.

How to pick strength and flavour
Intensity runs on a 7–10/10 scale, and the side filter narrows the list to mild, classic or strong coffees. For a bold morning espresso, reach for Maracatú Intenso (10/10) or Borbone Nera; for a softer americano or a milk-based cup, 100% Arabica or Borbone Oro sits better. If you would rather not commit to a big box, buy a single Maracatú Gran Crema sample pod and taste it in your own machine first. For the evening, or anyone watching caffeine, there are decaf versions from Maracatú and Borbone DEK.
Pack sizes and eco-credentials
Pods come in packs of 1, 18, 40, 50, 100 and 150 — the larger the box, the lower the cost per cup. Every Maracatú and Borbone pod is compostable, so after brewing it goes into the bio bin along with the grounds. The ESE 44 format is not limited to coffee: herbal teas, functional infusions (chamomile with melatonin, for one) and roasted barley brew in the very same machine, because the pod diameter is identical.
